	Ficksburg Cherry Festival: 15-20 Nov 2004
		The sandstone town of Ficksburg produces around 500 tons of cherries each year, representing about 95% of the South African crop. The town devotes a whole week each year to its favourite, with events including tastings, pickings, demonstrations and plenty of chances to learn some history of the cherry industry over the years. There are also horse shows, flower shows and a fun run. The festival culminates with a carnival, parade and firework display. Take your sweet tooth and don't wear white!
